DCA is relatively small molecule which inhibits lactate formatiion in human cells. DCA inhibits cancer cell metabolism and glucose use to produce energy at a cellular level. It appears DCA is able to target brain cancer due to its ability to cross the blood brain barrier and it blocks glucose consumption.
